Will be attending the Rihla 2011…at home

Please pardon me while I interrupt the flow of posts, but I will be traveling to Bursa, Turkey inshAllah from June 30 to July 21, 2011 for the Rihla program…from my computer. I may blog some memorable snapshots of the classes, but for the most part, I’ll be focusing on keeping my attention span connected to the live streaming videos from Turkey for 20 days in an attempt to absorb knowledge from scholars such as Shaykh Abdallah bin Bayyah, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad, Imam Zaid Shakir, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, Shaykh Yahya Rhodus, Imam Tahir Anwar, Shaykh Mohamed Ahmed Al-Sherif, Dr. Umar Faruq Abd-Allah, and Shaykh Naeem Abdul Wali on Ghazali’s Ihya Ulum Id-Deen. Feel free to join me…this inter-(ki)netic option is not exclusive…and who knows? Perhaps in the next coming years inshAllah, I’ll actually be able to blog from the Rihla on location.

P.S. Sign up today to lock in the lowest price of $99 for five years, or be sorry you didn’t and pay $119 tomorrow!!! Classes start July 2nd.

  1. Assalamo o Alaikum sister,
How’z the Rihla coming along? I so wanted to register for it, but with a full-time job, a toddler and another bun in the oven, which is almost done (Inshallah 3.5 more weeks to go), it was next to impossible. Inshallah next year … But just wanted to know howz it going for you. I am sure you must be reaping tons of benefits … since Iam new on this journey to become a better Muslimah, its awesome to soak in every pearl of knowlegde I can get my hands on. So if and when you get a chance, do blog about your rihla experience or the lectures you are watching/listening… Jazakallah Khair….

  2. Wa alaikum as-salaam Sr. Maryam,

Actually, I’m a bit behind these days as well. I’ve only caught glimpses from my Rihla Live Streaming Pass. I’m going to blame the computer on this one and conflicting goals for the past week (including finishing a draft outline for my novel inshAllah), not to mention motherhood duties. But I must thank you for pointing me towards the good and reminding me to attend the classes–jazaki Allahu khair! I do hope that I will be able to blog a gem from at least one or two broadcasts inshAllah…and the great thing about the Rihla this year is that the videos are recorded, so I’ll be playing catch-up soon inshAllah! Stay tuned! And mabrook on the soon-to-be addition to your family, inshAllah. May Allah bless your entire family with success in this life and the next–Amin!

  3. It is in2016 that I got to watch The RIHLA lectures in Konya ,I think in 2015.the British Muslim TV channel broadcasted twice in a day.I told my daughters and friends ,but after Ramdaan they have limited the lectures to 1 am. Only. They are Great,I can’t get enough of them. How do t watch the ones you did in 2011.I am only limited with computer knowledge?

    • AsSalaamu alaikum, there was a link from the Rihla website online and you could purchase a pass to watch the videos online…either live streamed or recorded. I pray they offer that option in the future…for us both!
